The following extractions of vital records are based on digitized images of the original records currently stored in the archives of Liège, Belgium. Digitized images are provided by FamilySearch, which makes billions of such images available on-line, thanks to the work of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The Church's remarkable commitment to genealogy, a core mission of the Church, has made it by far the world's large repository of genealogical information. In most cases, each transcription is based on a digital copy of a single microfilm, most of which were filmed by the LDS Church's global research teams in the 1960s.
We have also prepared and made available for download a multi-year alphabetical index of almost all names that appear in the Burg Reuland registers. The diagram below shows the relationship between the index, the transcriptions, and the original files at FamilySearch.
Step 1
Locate names of interest in the index. Note the sequence number, which is the key to locating records in the transcription.
Step 2
Review abstracted records in the tran-scription. Note image numbers of interest to access records in the FamilySearch original documents.
